Prayers for the Week of June 22
God created us to love stories! āStories have the power to resonate for us like
nothing else can. They teach us things we need to learn, show us new ways of
understanding, and answer questions we didnāt even know we needed to ask.
Stories go deep; they bypass the headāand go straight to the heart.ā (K. Center)
Scripture Verse:
John18:19-21 The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine.
Jesus answered him, āI spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues
and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing.
Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed,
they know what I said.ā
Monday
Lord, we know that in you are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge
(1 Col 2:3). Help me Holy Spirt to discover your treasures; may they direct my life in
faith and love, and may I live them out in your grace.
Tuesday
Lord, help me to commit myself to trusting in your word and delight myself in you! I
pray this not only for myself, but for all of us at St. Matthew, and for the man and
family you are preparing to be our next lead pastor. Draw us to him, and him to us.
Wednesday
Our Father, I thank you that you have drawn me into your kingdom story. I pray that
your kingdom will come, in my home, in our church, in Roseville, in California, in
America, and in the world ā as is established and flourishing in heaven.
Thursday
Heavenly Father, we ask for your continued protection and guidance for our call
committee, our pastor, our staff, and all those who are serving in and through St.
Matthew. Open our hearts to hear your voice leading us. May we be available to
you, trusting in your timing, with ever patient persistence in prayer.
Friday
Blessed are You, O Lord, King of the Universe, and giver of all good things. I thank
you Lord for our families and ask for you to protect and nurture them in love and
unity. May they be a safe haven and a seedbed from which you will fill the earth.
Saturday Praise
On what has now been sown, Thy blessing, Lord, bestow;
The power is Thine alone, To make it sprout and grow.
Do Thou in grace the harvest raise, And Thou alone shalt have the praise!
